Get Directions →

Frank Island is a private speck of land which juts out into the Pacific Ocean nearTofino in British Columbia (Canada). This unique island is a ten minute walk at low tide over a sand spit from Chesterman’s Beach.  If you’re in need of something out of the ordinary and want to relax, this is the place for you!

On the 25-acre island itself, you’ll find a selection of cabins and larger apartment to stay in, usually for a minimum of three nights. The Tombolo Studio caters for groups of up to four people. The Studio provides breathtaking views from all sides and one of the last remaining lighthouses on the BC coast (on Leonard Island) can be seen from the ‘rock deck’ outside the bedroom. There is a woodstove, solar powered lights, outdoor hot water shower, compost toilet, BBQ, queen bed and a propane stove.

Alternatively, stay in the La Picola cabin, an octagonal cedar cabin which perches on the island’s outer coast, anchored to the rocks with chains! A wrap around deck with thick rope railings provides spectacular views of the ocean, surrounding beaches and nearby mountains

The wonderful town of Tofino is only three miles from Frank Island, a district of about 1,876 residents on the west coast of Vancouver Island, located on the tip of the Esowista Peninsula at the southern edge of Clayoquot Sound. A popular tourist destination in the summer, Tofino’s population swells to many times its winter size. It attracts surfers, nature lovers, campers, whale watchers, fishermen, or anyone just looking to be close to nature.
